HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a man who died after being found behind a moving truck that had crashed into a chiropractic college.
Authorities tell the Oakland Tribune that Martin Thornton died as a result of blunt force trauma to his torso. The 42-year-old man was found Friday after a break-in at Life Chiropractic College in Hayward.
Police arrested Tyler Richard Johnston, 49, on suspicion of homicide and burglary.
Hayward Police Department spokesman Sgt. Ryan Cantrell says Johnston was an accomplice of Thornton in the attempted burglary at the college on Feb. 13 and that the two may have been friends.
Cantrell says Thornton died as a result of the burglary.
