Man Arrested After Leading CHP on Chase Into SF City Streets

A motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of felony evasion early Wednesday morning after he led California Highway Patrol units on a high-speed pursuit on the U.S. Highway 101 freeway from Redwood City into the streets of San Francisco, according to the CHP.

The CHP said the pursuit started just after midnight Wednesday on northbound U.S. 101 just south of Whipple Avenue. An officer attempted to pull over a man on a motorcycle, but he proceeded to flee and reached speeds of 120 mph on the freeway.

According to the CHP, the motorcycle continued into San Francisco city streets, where it exited Cesar Chavez Street and eventually stopped at the intersection of Jerrold Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard, where the suspect was taken into custody.

The motorcyclist has been booked into the Redwood City Jail. His name wasn't released.
