A San Francisco resident was arrested Thursday on suspicion of shooting a man during this past weekend's Pride festivities, police said.
According to a San Francisco Police Department release, Joshua Spencer, 19, was taken into custody at 12 p.m. in Vallejo. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm in public and possessing an unregistered firearm, and booked into County Jail, police said.
Spencer is accused of firing shots near the Civic Center/United Nations Plaza at about 6 p.m. Saturday, just as Pride celebrations were ending nearby. Police said a 64-year-old man was shot in the arm. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and released after being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
An argument involving several groups of men sparked the shooting, police said, adding that the incident was “unrelated” to Pride events. The release also stated that responding officers detained several potential suspects on Market Street.
