Man Arrested on DUI Charges After Crash in Santa Rosa

A man driving on a suspended license was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed into one occupied vehicle, a chain link fence and then a parked vehicle in Santa Rosa, according to police.

Just before 3 p.m., Ignacio Floriano-Munguia, 30, of Santa Rosa was traveling at speeds approaching 100 mph along northbound Santa Rosa Avenue, near Bennett Valley Road, in an orange Chevy Camaro when he slammed on his brakes to avoid rear-ending a vehicle occupied by a man and his two young children, police said.

Floriano-Munguia hit the rear quarter panel of that vehicle before crashing through a chain link fence that he pushed along the sidewalk until he turned onto Rutledge Avenue and smashed into a parked car, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Floriano-Munguia, who was on probation and had a suspended license for a previous DUI, had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit, police said. He was arrested and booked into Sonoma County jail for DUI, violatiing probation and driving on a suspended license.
