A young man suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle hit him Monday evening in Fremont, police said.
Someone called police at 6:56 p.m. to report the collision on Blacow Road and Gatewood Drive, where they found the victim with major head injuries.
Police said the man, 18, was unresponsive as he was lying in the road.
An investigation indicates that the man was walking south across Blacow Road at Gatewood Drive when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Blacow Road.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a part in the collision.
