Sheriff Rescues Owl in West Marin County

A Marin County Deputy discovered an owl after following up with a vehicle that appeared to be in the middle of the road on Tuesday night.

While driving in the Bolinas community, the deputy found a car with its emergency lights on. The officer pursued to check on the vehicles occupants and stopped to find the owl.

After a hunt for prey, the owl probably swooped in to grab dinner and was struck by another vehicle before being found by the car with its emergency lights on, the Sheriff's Office said.

The owl was not badly injured but seemed to be dazed, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

Marin Humane Officers took the owl to Wild Care and reported that the bird is likely to survive.
