Marin Man Gets 15 Years for DUI Crash That Killed Teen

A Marin County man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for a drunk-driving accident that killed a teenager who was riding in his truck two years ago.

Gerardo Ramirez Larios, 34, of Inverness was sentenced Wednesday in Marin County Superior Court.

Un April, Larios was convicted of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He had previous DUI convictions in 2001 and 2003.

The June 2007 crash occurred when Larios' pickup truck went off Highway 1 and hit a utility pole north of Olema. The crash killed passenger Ricky Teague, a 16-year-old Tomales High student.

Larios' defense attorneys had argued that authorities were unable to prove who was driving the truck.
