‘Massive Beer Bottle:' Cars Hit in San Francisco by Flying Object

Two cars, one carrying Australian tourists in a car, were struck by some sort of flying object on Sunday in San Francisco, and now, California Highway Patrol officers are trying to figure out who did it.

Emma Pearson said she and her pals had just left San Francisco International Airport and were headed to the city in a City Wide Cab, when a loud bang and pop shattered the cab’s windshield near Interstate Highway 280 and Mariposa Street.

She thinks it was a “massive beer bottle.” “Yeah, “ she said. “We just got off straight from the airport. It’s like, ‘Welcome to San Francisco.’”

California Highway Patrol Sgt. John Cardoso said a couple of people filed reports of windshields shattering, and even though they reported the sound was as loud as gunfire, he said the evidence shows that the object was most likely a beer bottle or rock.
