Metallica and Guns N' Roses Announce Bay Area Shows

Famed rock bands Metallica and Guns N’ Roses made announcements on April Fool's Day that they will be playing shows in the Bay Area in the near future.

Metallica will reportedly be playing a free show on April 16 in Berkeley at Rasputin. According to SF Gate, fans will have to enter a contest in order to receive a ticket.

Guns N’ Roses announced that it will be playing a show in San Francisco on August 9 as part of its “Not in this Lifetime Tour” across the United States, according to a tweet from their official account.

The gig would mark the first time Axl Rose and Slash performed on stage together since 1993, according to Rolling Stone.

NBC LA reported that hundreds of fans in Los Angeles flocked to the former Tower Records building to get tickets for the band’s show Friday night at the Troubadour.

The band's homepage included its logo and the text, "April Fools?" NBC LA is attempting to confirm details with a band representative.
