Metallica to Headline ‘The Night Before' Super Bowl Concert at AT&T Park

Metallica will perform a concert at AT&T Park on the eve of Super Bowl 50.

The band's first San Francisco show in three years will be for CBS Radio's third annual Super Bowl eve concert "The Night Before" on Feb. 6.

The forthcoming performance was announced Monday morning by the band on radio station Live 105. A representative from Metallica's management company Q Prime told NBC Bay Area the band went live on five more local radio stations within one hour of the announcement in an unprecedented airwave blitz.

"As many of you know, we’re no strangers to our hometown ballpark supporting the local baseball team, but this will be the first time we have ever played a headlining show there and we can’t wait to bring a stage show and production worthy of the magnitude of the week," the band wrote on the Metallica blog.

Tickets go on general sale at 10 a.m. on Friday on Ticketmaster, while Metallica fan club members have early pre-sale access beginning on Tuesday.
