Washington: Late yesterday, Michelle Obama announced that the Obamas would be planting a vegetable garden in the White House, meaning Alice Waters finally got her wish, undoubtedly spurred on by her big 60 Minutes appearance.
The symbolic move is a major victory for the Slow Food movement, and will hopefully ring in a new era of eating in America. So, bountiful mulberry ice cream congrats to Alice, who has been talking about this nonstop, but even more joyously, hopefully she can now move on to new important causes, yes?
