Michelin Unveils Its Stars

Last week the Michelin Guide served us an appetizer, this week they are unveiling the full entree.

The famed French restaurant guide released its San Francisco list of winners Tuesday and there were some surprising results.

Most notably left off the list was the Queen of Slow Food herself, Alice Waters, and her restaurant Chez Panisse. The Berkeley restaurant lost its only Michelin star.

But there was some local culinary history made on this year's edition of the guide as well. At long last, a Bay Area restaurant finally reached the pinnacle of three star success previously only enjoyed by the French Laundry.

Meadowood in Napa Valley was upgraded from two stars to three. There were three restaurants that earned two stars, 39 that earned one and 11 newcomers. See the full list here.
