Money, Marijuana and 40-Plus Guns Stolen During Home Invasion Robbery in Sonoma County

More than 40 guns along with cash, marijuana, jewelry and cellphones were stolen during a home invasion robbery south of Sebastopol early Sunday morning, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

A resident of a home on the 5400 block of Lone Pine Road reported the robbery at 2:38 a.m., according to the sheriff's office. He told investigators that five thieves smashed a sliding glass door to get in while he and his wife were sleeping.

The five suspects held him at gunpoint and forced him into his garage where they demanded he open two large gun safes. They stole over 10 pounds of marijuana, jewelry, cellphones, $5,000 in cash and more than 40 handguns, shotguns and rifles, sheriff's officials said.

The suspects took about an hour to gather all the items. Once they were ready to leave, they bound the man and his wife and fled, according to the sheriff's office. It took about 15 minutes for the man to call 911 after they left.

The suspects were described as men between 20 and 40 years old.

Anyone with information about the case has been asked to call the sheriff's office tip line at (707) 565-2185.
