San Francisco Police Arrest Suspected Serial Arsonist

Three more fires, intentionally set, found in San Francisco.

San Francisco police late Wednesday said they have arrested a suspected serial arsonist tied to a recent string of fires.

Police were not releasing any further details on the arrest and are expected to provide further information on Thursday.

The arrest follows three more "small blazes" discovered by officers on Tuesday night, part of a spate of arsons that police were asking the public's help to solve.

SF Weekly reported that police believe the fires may have been set by the same "pyromaniac" who over the past week has set fire to "newspaper racks, garbage cans, and construction materials" in South of Market recently.

Fires were found Tuesday in the Mission, SoMa and the Tenderloin, the newspaper reported.
