The last time the stars of the "MythBusters" showed up in Dublin, things did not go well.

In two weeks, Adam Savage and Kari Byron will be in the East Bay city hoping things go better this time.

On Dec. 6  the show's hosts conducted an  experiment at the Alameda County bomb range that mistakenly sent a 30-pound  cannonball through a cinder block wall, over a hill and into a nearby  neighborhood, where it damaged two homes and a minivan.

Thankfully no one was hurt but the show took a lot of flack for its safety measures.

This time two of the stars of the Discovery Channel show will make an appearance at Dublin High School to talk about engineering and science as part of National Engineers Weeks.

"If you teach people to foster and harness their curiosity about how the world works, they will find that learning about science and technology is fun - and kids find it most exciting of all," Savage said

The Emmy-nominated show features its hosts trying to use science and technology to test the validity of popular myths.

The show is shot mostly in Alameda but parts of about 50 episodes have been shot in Dublin, according to event organizers.

The event will be open to the public and it will be free at 7 p.m. in the Dublin High School Sports Complex.

Update: Event organizers are now saying no more tickets are available.
