Naming Rights of Former O.co Coliseum Available

Formerly known as the O.co Coliseum, the naming rights to The Oakland Alameda Coliseum are available after discount online retailer Overstock.com ended its sponsorship of the venue, officials with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority said Saturday.

Overrstock.com held the naming rights for five years and a shift in company strategy meant that sponsoring a venue was no longer in the best interest of the company.

In a statement, Executive Director of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Scott McKibben said, "We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to the sports marketing marketplace.

"The Coliseum is now the only venue in the United States that offers a sponsor naming rights to a venue hosting Major League Baseball and the National Football League."

The Oakland Alameda Coliseum hosts the Oakland Athletics and the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland Athletics spokeswoman Catherine Aker said Overstock.com parted amicably with the coliseum's governing body.
