Napa Police Come to Aid of Family Whose Car, Christmas Gifts Were Stolen

For one family who had their car and Christmas presents stolen, Santa Claus came in the form of Napa police officers.

The family's pick-up truck, which contained presents for the family's children, had recently been taken from a home in North Napa, according to police.

Officers also learned that the truck is the family's only mode of transportation and that one of the family members is unable to work due to an accident.

Napa Police Department officers decided to help and reached out to Cal Fire officials, the Napa Fire Department, the Napa Safeway store and the Napa Target store, in addition to community members. Together, they were able to replace the family's stolen gifts with new gifts, in addition to cash and gift cards.

"It's days like this that remind us why we live and work is such an amazing community," police said on social media.

Although officers were eventually able to recover the truck, the family's original presents were gone, according to police.
