Thursday is National Waterpark Day, and one popular park in the East Bay is gearing up for what is expected to be a busy day for those looking to cool off.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Concord, the Bay Area's largest waterpark, was getting an early start on preparing for thousands of visitors.
Park spokesperson Marc Merino said the park, open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, will have some special ways to celebrate the occasion.
