Netflix is looking to make things easier for new moms and dads by offering employees unlimited time off during the first year of their child’s birth or adoption.
The Los Gatos-based company will keep paying employees normally during their maternity or paternity leave, with no need for state or disability pay.
“At Netflix, we work hard to foster a ‘freedom and responsibility’ culture that gives our employees context about our business and the freedom to make their own decisions along with the accompanying responsibility,” the company’s chief talent officer said in a statement released Tuesday.
Netflix already offers unlimited time off for all employees.
Netflix says these perks help attract and retain talented workers and allow its workers “to be supported during the changes in their lives and return to work more focused and dedicated.”
