New Picture Could Help Find Cupertino Murder Suspect

Police are hoping a new picture will help them track down the man suspected in the brutal death of a Cupertino woman.

Authorities believe Huaichang Zhao, 45, was performing landscape work for a Cupertino family when he severely beat Wei Wei Li and her husband inside their home on Berry Court last Friday.  The attack left Li, 42, dead and sent her husband to a hospital.

Detectives say 45-year-old Fremont resident Zhao killed Li and assaulted her husband before fleeing in a white Ford pickup  truck.

Santa Clara County Sheriff's detectives say they think Huaichang Zhao is in the Monterey Park area of Los Angeles.  They had officers canvassing that area Tuesday.

Zhao is described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Sgts.  Binder or Lera with the sheriff's office investigations division at 408-808-4500 or use the anonymous tip line at 408-808-4431.
