No Love for Summer of Love Anniversary Celebration: Organizers

A celebration for Summer of Love seems to be getting no love from San Francisco city officials.

For the second time, organizers on Saturday said they were denied a permit to host a festive concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of the event.

"These permit officers have directly and intentionally denied our permit on onerous and unfounded grounds," organizers wrote in a statement.

City officials reportedly slammed the door on the event because the organizers advertised the event without receiving permission and didn't hire a city-appointed person to manage the concert, among other transgressions.

NBC Bay Area has reached out to city officials for a comment.
