A man sleeping inside a parked car in Oakland was detained early Wednesday morning after an officer investigating a parking violation spotted what appeared to be two handguns — that turned out to be replicas — in the vehicle, according to police.
Police said the officer spotted the vehicle in the 9600 block of Coral Road and saw the man asleep and the handguns inside.
According to police, a plan was made to safely detain the man, who complied with police commands.
Police didn't say if the man was arrested. No further information is immediately available.
