A morbidly obese Livermore man is seeking help in his quest to lose weight -- and to stay alive to watch his niece and nephew grow up. He has posted a video to YouTube (below), hoping it will go viral.
Robert Gibbs' 23rd birthday is today, March 2. In his YouTube video, posted March 1, he explains that he's dieted before, but always gains it back.
"I feel like I'm trapped within myself and my body's working against me," he told NBC's Jodi Hernandez.
"I've tried to do everything possible," he says, including being hospitalized.
In this photo (right) Gibbs is pictured at about 4 or 5 years old during Christmas.
His main request is that his video be shared and re-posted as many times as possible in his quest for help. Nutritionists, personal trainers and even Dr. Phil are called out in the video.

On Friday night, Gibbs said he had already received offerings of support. A former "Biggest Loser" contestant reached out, as well as the Dr. Phil show. He said he would be evaluating his options.
