Offbeat Offerings on for This Weekend

From an SF Bike Party to a helicopter-riding bunny to the art of clothing.

It's the end of the week.

Get batteries for your light, air for your tires, and a clip for your pant leg, for tonight we ride!

San Francisco is your urban jungle and the wheelie beasts will rule SF Bike Party. This month the all-age, fun ride's theme is the "urban jungle" so riders are encouraged to dress themselves and/or their "steeds." We know the start time is 7:30 p.m. but hit 'em up online for the super secret starting point and route.

Now, Cupid has his wings, Santa has his sleigh so it only seems fair that the Easter Bunny should arrive by helicopter, Saturday at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. Just hop off the Bayshore Freeway a hare to the south of the Holly Street exit and you'll be set for the 10:30 arrival and stick around for the egg hunt, face painting and the "jump and slide".

And Sunday, whether you're celebrating Easter, Passover, Hanamatsuri or just "Sunday" you'll probably get dressed in your finest. Head to the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek and check out "Outfitters: The Contemporary Art of Clothing" where clothing is sometimes the material and sometimes the creation. Artworks include Beverly Rayner’s mesmerizing, room-size sculpture of a robe, created from one person’s lifetime collection of birth notices, love letters, photos and greeting cards.
