A California Highway Patrol officer on Monday was involved in an officer-involved shooting that shut down a portion of northbound US Highway 101 to the Interstate Highway 880 interchange in San Jose for several hours.
The shooting was reported Sunday about 11:30 p.m. Police said the San Jose CHP was responding to a call of a traffic collision.
The officers were not injured, but a suspect received non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. An ambulance shows someone being wheeled on a gurney and driven away.
The connector ramp was closed for roughly 11 hours while officials investigated the shooting. All lanes re-opened just after 10:30 a.m.
CHP Sgt. Daniel Hill said the San Jose police department will be handling the investigation.
