One Bay Area City Tops for Being a Kid

Rating No. 3 out of 2,000

A Bay Area city is getting a big nod when it comes to great places to grow up.

U.S. News and World Report
tried to find the top cities in the country and handed San Jose a top spot.  The safest city of its size ranked No. 3.

In all they dug into the database of 2,000 different places.

The magazine said it took into consideration crime, school, other children and lots of space.  With the median price of a home hovering at $450,000, thankfully real estate did not factor in the list.

San Jose got high marks because it has nine square miles of green spaces and 300 days of sunshine each year.  And did you know there are six public skateboarding parks in city limits?

The article mentioned that San Jose considers itself the capital of Silicon Valley, but that it didn't "take a computer scientist to understand the city's appeal to kids."
