One of two people shot and wounded last week by a suspect outside of a restaurant and nightclub in San Jose died at a hospital on Sunday.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting reported at 11:33 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Capitol Avenue, police spokeswoman Sgt. Heather Randol said.
Officers responding to the shooting learned that the two victims had arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. The second victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening, Randol said.
Some sort of disturbance had occurred inside the business and continued outside when a suspect shot the two victims and then fled, police said.
Police are still gathering information on the suspected shooter and a possible motive for the attack.
San Jose police are asking anyone with details about the shooting to call the department's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283 or to leave an anonymous tip with Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
