One Year Later, No Charges in Decapitated SF Man's Death

It’s been a year since San Francisco police found Brian Egg’s decapitated body in a fish tank inside his home in the city's SOMA district, and no one has been charged in his death.

Police found the 65-year-old Egg's headless body months after he had been reported missing. Some neighbors said the last time they had seen Egg was on his daily walk with his dog Lucky in early June 2018.

On Aug. 14, 2018, neighbors reported seeing a stranger and a private crime-scene cleaning truck at Egg's home on Clara Street. Police smelled a strong odor of decay. They arrested two men and later found Egg's headless, handless torso in the fish tank.

Lance Silva was detained but not charged in the homicide. Police said Silva was using Egg’s debit card before his arrest.

Another man was also arrested but later released, police said.
