2 Hospitalized After 3-Vehicle Crash in San Jose

Two people were hospitalized and three others were injured Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in San Jose's Heritage neighborhood, San Jose police said.

The accident at Aborn Road and Whitesand Drive was reported about 12:55 p.m. Sunday. San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten said a Mercedes-Benz SUV trying to make a left turn collided with both a Nissan Altima and a Honda at the intersection.

The SUV ended up on its side, and two passengers in that vehicle had to be removed by San Jose Fire Department firefighters, and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Tepoorten said.

The SUV driver and another passenger, as well as the driver of the Nissan, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Tepoorten said alcohol and drugs don't appear to be a factor in the collision.
