Parking on the Peninsula is getting a bit more expensive now.
Parking rates in downtown Redwood City have doubled from 50 cents to $1 per hour between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
City leaders are hoping this will leave more spaces open to visitors and customers.
The city projects the rate hike will bring in more than $900,000 a year in revenue.
The meters are located all around the city center, near restaurants and a movie theater, as well as a parking lot by the Caltrain station.
