Party Like it's Election Night

Bay Area parties as results roll in

Election Day is an important day for most people, but this year there's extra interest and it's creating a buzz all over the Bay Area.

Several groups are hosting parties to celebrate and watch as returns come in and history is made.

Glide Memorial United Methodist Church in San Francisco is hosting a free results viewing party from 5-7 p.m.

It's in Freedom Hall and they'll be serving light refreshments. Call 415-674-6000 to find out more.

There's also a party at the Rasselas Jazz Club & Restaurant in San Francisco. It's free and you'll be treated to the Angry Tired Teachers Band playing their new hit song.

The party starts at 7 p.m. and it's free. They'll be giving away and raffling off Obama T-shirts and a flat-screen TV. Rasselas Jazz Club is at 1534 Fillmore St. in San Francisco.

Yoshi's in San Francisco is hosting a Celebration of Democracy. It runs from 5 p.m. to midnight but it's sold out. But, you can watch the party and hear a radio broadcast of the big event online.

The Libertarians are celebrating Election Night with a pizza party. They'll be meeting at Round Table Pizza on Stevens Creek in San Jose. The celebrating begins at 7 p.m.

Election celebrations are also happening in Oakland, Berkeley and the Peninsula.
