Anyone who left their vehicle at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in the aftermath of last week's mass shooting can go directly to Christmas Hill Park to recover their property beginning Thursday, according to police.
Law enforcement was providing escorts to the park through last week while the FBI and police swept an acres-large crime scene, but they have since completed gathering evidence, police said. It may take several weeks for the park to reopen to the public, but drivers can go to the entrance at Uvas Park Drive and Miller Avenue and speak to security to retrieve their cars.
According to police, the Family Assistance Center has been moved to 350 W. Sixth St. and will be open through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. People can access lost items, counseling and financial support.
The shooter killed 3 people and wounded 13. The suspect was shot by police and ultimately died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
There were two remaining patients at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as of Tuesday, one of whom was in fair condition and another who was not releasing their information, according to hospital spokeswoman Joy Alexiou.
Drop-in counseling services are available at Gilroy High School at 750 West 10th St. and Brownell Middle School at 7800 Carmel St. from 4-8 p.m. through Friday, police said.
The information hotline is not being monitored anymore, police said, but people can call the Family Assistance Center at (408) 209-8356 for more support.
