Police in Petaluma on Sunday arrested a man in connection with driving under the influence following a vehicle crash.
Andrew Feltrop, 32, of Petaluma, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and violation of probation, according to the Petaluma Police Department.
On Sunday at 9:24 p.m., officers responded to a crash in the area of Lakeville Street at Petaluma Boulevard North and located a Honda Civic on its roof on the sidewalk.
Witnesses told police the driver, identified as Feltrop, was able to remove himself from the vehicle and was kept from walking away from the scene of the crash.
Police said Feltrop showed extreme sings of alcohol impairment.
Witnesses reported Feltrop was speeding south on Petaluma Boulevard North, failed to negotiate a turn onto Lakeville Street, drove onto the sidewalk and struck a telephone police support wire.
The vehicle traveled up the wire and flipped onto its roof.
Police said Feltrop's preliminary blood alcohol percentage was greater than four times the legal limit to drive.
He was transported to the hospital, medically cleared and arrested.
Police said Feltrop was on probation and prohibited from drinking alcohol, and records show he had two prior DUIs.
