Pickup Slams Into San Jose House; Homeowner Says Property Struck 19 Times Before

A GMC pickup truck slammed into a San Jose home late Monday night, and the homeowner said it’s the 19th time his property has been hit, and the fourth time a vehicle has smashed into his residence.

Homeowner Ray Minter told NBC Bay Area that he even put posts in front of his home at South Jackson Avenue and Bambi Lane to prevent anyone from driving into it again. “But it didn’t do any good,” Minter said.

According to witness video, the pickup driver exited Interstate Highway 680 at Jackson Avenue about 11 p.m., careened through an intersection, crashed through a fence, yard and driveway of one house, before it ended up slamming into Minter’s home.

Sgt. Enrique Garcia said the driver was taken to the hospital. Another police officer told NBC Bay Area he had been arrested.

On June 1, 22-year-old Alexandra Lozano of East Palo Alto was fatally struck in the same area, in a hit-and-run on Jackson Avenue underneath Interstate Highway 680.
