The American Red Cross is teaming up with Baskin-Robbins to help get folks to give blood this summer.
From July 1-6 (excluding the holiday) anyone who donates a pint of blood will receive a coupon for a pint of 31 Flavors.
The Red Cross says the summer months are normally a challenging time when it comes to donations because regular donors are away on vacation or are preoccupied with summer activities.
That's bad timing, because blood needs can rise during the summer as increased roadway and travel-related injuries can drain supplies.
Here are the locations of the blood centers:
- Oakland, 6230 Claremont Avenue
- Pleasant Hill, 140 Gregory Lane
- Pleasanton, 5556-B Springdale Avenue
- Newark, 39227 Cedar Boulevard
In order to give blood you must be 17 years of age, meet height and weight requirement, and you need to be in generally good health.
