Police Bust Monterey Pot Farmer

A 59-year-old man was arrested in Big Sur on Friday after Monterey
County sheriff's deputies discovered more than 100 marijuana plants on his
property, authorities said Saturday.

Sheriff's deputies found the marijuana garden with about 125
plants, as well as a scale and cultivating equipment, around 10:30 a.m.,
according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect, Jas Morton, was contacted at the garden and also
found to have marijuana in his home, sheriff's deputies said. He was arrested
on charges of cultivating marijuana and possessing more than an ounce of the
drug.
