Antioch police are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon that spilled over onto Highway 4 and have four suspects in custody.
Around 2:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of two people in a black Jaguar firing shots near the parking lot of a Quikstop on the 1100 block of Sycamore Drive, according to a department statement.
Nobody was wounded although suspects fired multiple rounds from a rifle and unoccupied cars in the parking lot were struck by bullets, police said. Footage from the NBC Bay Area chopper showed a silver car with its rear window blown out.
The Jaguar and a second vehicle raced away from the scene and headed westbound on Highway 4, police said. Police did not confirm reports that the two cars' occupants also shot at each other on the highway.
Antioch police officers were able to locate the Jaguar at a Shell gas station on Bailey Road where they detained two suspects and retrieved a firearm.
Meanwhile, officers from the California Highway Patrol and Antioch Police Department found the second car miles away on westbound Highway 4 and apprehended two more suspects. A gun was found with the second pair as well, police said.
An investigation is ongoing and officers blocked off all westbound lanes on Highway 4 near Loveridge Road as they collected evidence. The roadway was reopened around 6:45 p.m.

Police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects and did not comment on whether Monday's shooting was connected to recent violence on the highway.
Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies initially reported Monday's incident as the latest in a rash of freeway and highway shootings plaguing the Bay Area.
Police say at least 20 shootings have been reported along East Bay highways since November, prompting Pittsburg city leaders to consider installing security cameras along a dangerous stretch of Highway 4. Most recently, a 22-year-old man was shot and injured on the highway Sunday evening.
