Police Say Motive for Murder: VD

A 26-year-old Richmond parolee has allegedly confessed to fatally shooting a prostitute because he believed she gave him two venereal diseases,  according to Richmond police Detective Darrell Graham.

Lorenzo Hutson was arrested Thursday after a brief police chase and later allegedly told investigators that he had killed 30-year-old Tamara Webb because she gave him gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Webb's body was found Feb. 3 near the railroad tracks behind the Triangle Court housing complex, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said at the  time.

A train conductor had seen the body earlier that day as he passed through the area, but thought it was a homeless person sleeping.

When he passed by the body again at about 2 p.m. and saw it hadn't moved, he called police, French said.

Webb had been shot multiple times, French said.

Hutson was charged Tuesday with murder with an enhancement for the use of a firearm, Graham said.

He is being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility, a county jail official said.
