Fremont Police Searching for Shih Tzu Stolen During Residential Burglary

Police and a dog owner are asking for help finding a 11-month-old Shih Tzu named Zizzi who someone took from a closed pen when they burglarized a Fremont home on Friday.

One or more suspects got into the home on the 35000 block of Ratto Place through an unlocked door and stole Zizzi, computers and jewelry sometime between 1:30 and 8:40 p.m., police said. The dog is also worth hundreds of dollars.

Zizzi had stitches removed earlier this week and her stomach is still shaved.

"She still has little marks on her stomach," dog owner Vanessa Li told NBC Bay Area on Sunday night, hoping someone might notice that if the dog is put up for sale on Craigslist. She also has a microchip, police said. "I want you to return the dog to me as soon as possible," Li said.

Anyone with information about Zizzi's whereabouts is being asked to get in touch with Fremont police at (510) 790-6800, option 3, or text an anonymous tip to Tip FremontPD followed by a message to 888-777.

Detective Kindorf is investigating the case and he can be reached at
