Police Seek Suspect in Stabbing Outside Palo Alto Donut Shop

Police are looking for a suspect in a Tuesday evening stabbing off of El Camino Real in Palo Alto.

Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers received a report from a man who said he was stabbed earlier in the evening outside Happy Donuts at 3916 El Camino Real, according to police.

Officers and fire crews quickly responded to the scene, where they found the victim, a man in his 20s, stabbed once in the back, police said.

The man told police the stabbing happened on Cypress Lane, which is behind the donut shop and other businesses, police said.

The victim said he didn't know the person who stabbed him, never saw the suspect and could not think of a motive that would lead someone to stab him, according to police. He was transported to a hospital where he was treated and is expected to fully recover from the wound.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police dispatch at (650) 329-2413. Anonymous tips can be sent to paloalto@tipnow.org or by text or voicemail to (650) 383-8984.
