President Barack Obama landed in San Francisco Friday to raise money at the Gettys and speak with Democratic leaders.
He touched down at San Francisco International Airport before 1:30 p.m. PST, smiled, shook hands, held a couple of babies and took off with his entourage to start some serious fundraising. The president made a quick stop at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco - where he will be staying tonight - before heading out to the first of his two fundraisers.
The White House said Obama will attend Democratic National Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee events at the San Francisco home Susan Sandler and Steve Philips. Susan Sandler is the Chair for California Tomorrow and also works with Justice Matters National Committee. [[375101181, C]]
Later Friday evening, the White House said Obama will be at a $33,400-a-plate fundraiser at the home of Gordon and Ann Getty in San Francisco. Gordon Getty is a businessman, philanthropist and classical musical composer, and the son of oil tycoon Paul Getty. The event is an annual affair, spearheaded by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from San Francisco.[[375101181, C]]
On Thursday, Obama was at a $33,400-a-couple gathering at the Los Angeles home of Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn and his wife.
He will return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
Obama's last visit to the Bay Area was in February, when he attended fundraisers in Atherton and Palo Alto and spent the night in Milpitas.
