Rain, Rare Bay Area Snow Possible

Prepare for slight rain, chill and even a light dusting of snow today in some parts of the Bay Area.

Today might see the coldest  air of the season with temperatures kicking off in the 30s and 40s. And don't expect it to warm up much throughout the day. Clouds will actually increase, and showers may spread throughout the region. Highs are expected only in the 50s.

On Thursday, snow levels might drop to 1,000 feet. Only a little rain is expected.  Snowfall amounts: Dusting to half an inch.  Areas of patchy fog and frost are likely before 9 a.m.  During the morning hours, a few  Bay Area mountains from 1,000 feet and higher could see a dusting of snow.  Afternoon highs are expected to be very chilly with coastal locations near 50 degrees and inland valleys in the upper 40s to near 50.

Temperatures will slowly rebound into the weekend and next week. In fact, a large ridge of high pressure will build offshore this weekend, and eventually move Inland, this could warm us up into the 60s by mid-week next week.
