Resident Escapes Injury at Sunnyvale Mobile Home Park Fire

An overnight fire in at a Sunnyvale trailer park destroyed a home early Monday morning.

Sunnyvale fire department arrived on scene around 3 a.m. to find the back half of a trailer camper engulfed in  flames in the 1000 block of East El Camino Real.

A downed power line forced firefighters to keep their distance as they sprayed water on the fire.  The battalion chief told NBC Bay Area that they put the fire out within 20 minutes.

Once PG&E turned off the power, the department was able to get a good look inside the camper to confirm that no one was inside.  The person who lives here stayed elsewhere last night and is safe.

No one was hurt and the fire department was able to keep it contained to that camper trailer.  No word yet on the cause.
