Richmond BART Open After Fire Shuts Down Station

The Richmond BART station was closed because of a brush fire and trains are not traveling past the El Cerrito del Norte station, transit officials said Saturday afternoon.

The fire department was battling the fire, and the station opened soon after the fire was extinguished, according to BART.

There will be residual delay in the Richmond, Millbrae and Warm Springs direction, BART officials said on social media.

Bus service to the BART station is available via AC Transit's 72M bus, according to transit officials.

The advisory went out at 2:20 p.m. today. There is no estimate so far as to when the station might reopen.
