Sacto Police Make Arrest in Armstrong Case

This wasn't your ordinary case of bike theft.

Sacramento police said Tuesday that they arrested two men on charges related to the theft of a bicycle belonging to seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong.

Officers said they arrested 39-year-old Lee Crider on suspicion of stealing Armstrong's Trek Livestrong 1274 and two other bikes from members of Armstrong's Team Astana. Another man, 34-year-old Dung Le, was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Officers said Crider stole the bicycles from the back of a rental truck while Team Astana was in Sacramento in February for Stage 1 of the Tour of California. Crider then sold Armstrong's time-trial bike to Le, who turned it in to police four days after it was reported stolen.

The other two bikes have not been recovered.
