San Carlos Water Main Break Forces Street Closures

A portion of Alameda de Las Pulgas was closed in San Carlos Tuesday afternoon because of a water main break, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The water main break was reported at 2:23 p.m. in the 1700 block of Alameda de Las Pulgas.

Sheriff's deputies were turning away traffic at the intersections of Alameda de Las Pulgas and Edgewood Road, Eaton and Emerald avenues and Eaton Avenue and Alameda de Las Pulgas, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt.

Water utility officials and firefighters were on the scene working to fix the water main break, but there was no estimate of when roads would be reopened, Rosenblatt said.

Drivers were told to expect delays and take alternate routes.
