San Francisco 2004: Two Words That Helped Change the Course of History

Following President George W. Bush’s State of The Union address in 2004, the newly minted mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, overheard a conversation in the halls of the Capitol. Two words uttered in that discussion inspired one of the most powerful and peaceful civil rights movements in American history.
