SF Among Most Facial Hair Friendly Cities

Grooming company Wahl is offering free facial hair trims in San Francisco Friday to help battle cancer

Grooming company Wahl is offering free facial hair trims in San Francisco Friday to help battle cancer. For every trim performed, Wahl will donate $1 to “ZERO—The End of Prostate Cancer,” a nonprofit fighting against prostate cancer.

This stop is part of Wahl’s cross country tour, where they are visiting the top 10 most facial hair friendly cities in America. San Francisco sits at #10 on the list. The tour has been going on annually for about a decade, and last year, about 100 people showed up in San Francisco for the free cuts.

Along with the grooming, the team of barbers is also searching for a guy with the best scruff to represent the city as Wahl Man of San Francisco. The man with the best mustache, beard or goatee will go on to compete for the title of Wahl Man of the Year.

The free cuts will be taking place on Pier 39, located on Beach Street and the Embarcadero, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

“The main goal of the tour is to celebrate guys who celebrate facial hair,” Robyn Nowak of Wahl said. “We want to support guys who are enthusiastic about their facial hair and use it as a way to express themselves.”
