San Francisco Mom, Son Admit Faking Disease for Disabled Parking Placards

No, they weren't sick. They just wanted the free parking.

A San Francisco mother and son have pleaded guilty to lying about having a lung ailment in order to obtain disabled parking passes, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Guobin Qin, 29, and Qiaoyun Chen, 50, pleaded guilty to felony forgery and will perform 1,000 hours of community service in addition to serving three years on probation, the newspaper reported.

Somehow, the pair were able to file with the state Department of Motor Vehicles papers with a signature from a doctor saying that they were being treated for a lung disease, the newspaper reported. The doctor later told them that there was no record of either of the pair being a patient.

They'll now work with the disabled community, according to the District Attorney, in addition to paying $4,100 in fines.
