Orchestra students from three schools in San Francisco will rehearse Tuesday ahead of their performance Wednesday evening with the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet.

School district officials said dozens of students from the orchestras of Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, Lowell High School and George Washington High School will rehearse from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at George Washington High School at 600 32nd Ave.

The concert with the Kronos Quartet starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

At the concert, works from "Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire" will be presented. The repertoire is an education project by the Kronos Performing Arts Association and a project that aims to produce the first learning library of modern repertoire for string quartet.

This is the second year that San Francisco students will collaborate with the Kronos Quartet for a community concert.

The group was also nominated for chamber music/small ensemble performance of "Anderson, Laurie: Landfall" at the 61st annual Grammy Awards.
